What is stored

• The display name you choose in the app.
• Your location, rounded on your computer to 0.1° (about 11 km). Precise coordinates never leave your computer.
• When the location was measured and when the server received it.
• A random ID generated by the app on first launch. It is not linked to your Apple ID, email or device serial number.

IP addresses are not logged for the app's requests.

Purpose

To show where people in the CIID network currently are on a world map in an installation in the CIID foyer. Your display name and rounded location may be shown there. The random ID is never shown or passed on.

Legal basis

Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given in the app before anything is sent. You can withdraw it at any time by deleting your data.

Retention

Only the latest location per person is kept; each update overwrites the previous one. Each entry is deleted automatically when it expires: by default after three missed updates (for example three days if you send daily), or after the time you choose in the app, and never later than 90 days.

Deleting your data

Choose Delete my data… in the app's menu. This removes your entry from the server immediately. Alternatively, contact us (see above).

Where data is processed

On a server in Germany (IONOS). Nothing is shared with third parties.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
